Anderson Community Schools (ACS) and Meridian Health Services announced today the launch of the Anderson School-Based Health Center at C.O.M.P.A.S.S. This new and convenient health center offers a wide variety of medical and behavioral health services for ACS students, families, and the entire Anderson community.
“It is important for us to provide as much support and services as we can for our students and their families,” said Dr. Kelly Durr, Chief Operations Officer for ACS. “The new Anderson School-Based Health Center allows Meridian to provide important medical and behavioral care services in a familiar and convenient location.”
Previously, Meridian Services offered limited services on-site for students at C.O.M.P.A.S.S, ACS’ alternative education school, which is located at 2010 Brentwood Drive in Anderson. The expansion of services allows them to provide more comprehensive services to all ACS students and their families.
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Anderson Community Schools to make our medical and behavioral care available to ACS students, their families, and the entire Anderson community,” said Lisa Suttle, Regional VP of Clinical Services at Meridian Health Services. “We look forward to helping more people from our C.O.M.P.A.S.S. location and expanding our footprint in Anderson.”
The Anderson School-Based Center will provide: health and prevention screenings, illness visits, immunizations, sports physicals, first aid, dental screenings, nutrition/weight management support, and help with managing chronic health conditions.
They will also behavioral services that include: crisis interventions, individual/group therapy, teen counseling, parent/child conflict, suicide prevention, ADHD/autism diagnosis/screening, addiction prevention/services, and phsyco-social assessments.
In addition to providing these services in person at C.O.M.P.A.S.S., virtual visits are also available by online video or by phone consultation.
Meridian offers sliding fee scale eligibility to ensure all patients are seen regardless of insurance and income status. Medicaid, self-pay and most insurances are accepted.
