ANDERSON - The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) announced recently that the Anderson Community Schools’ (ACS) ‘Back to School for All’ video will be a recipient of their Publications and Digital Media Award of Excellence. The award will be presented at their National Seminar on July 17, 2022 in Chicago, Illinois.
“Whenever you get students and teachers together that’s when the magic happens,” said Dr. Cronk, Superintendent of ACS. “This video has helped to underscore the importance of having our students back in the classroom and in front of our teachers.”
The video was made possible through a ‘Back to School for All’ grant from the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The AFT committed $5 million in grants nationwide to fund various projects focused on promoting in-person learning and safety through the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the grants awarded was to the Anderson Federation of Teachers.
“We are proud to have received the grant,” said Randy Harrison, President of the Anderson Federation of Teachers. “We feel that we’ve put it into practice by bringing students back and helping to address the loss of learning experienced from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards recognize outstanding work in educational communications, including print and digital publications, video, audio, websites, social media, and more. Helping ACSC and the Anderson Federation of Teachers to produce the award winning video was Central Indiana Educational Service Center’s (CIESC).
“It's more important than ever for students to feel safe at school,” said Paul Weller, Director of Media Services at CIESC. “We appreciated the opportunity to showcase ACS’ dedicated staff and updated facilities.”
