While senior Spencer Proctor has played a role in Anderson’s basketball, cross country and track-and-field programs, his talents in the classroom have also been on display. He has a 4.927 GPA and was named the 2024 Red Haven Award winner earlier this spring.
With Proctor -- who was second in his class -- representing the word “student-athlete” to the best of his ability, the Anderson senior has been named The THB Sports Boys Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
On the athletic side of things, Proctor has earned many honors. He has 11 varsity letters in his three sports and has been named All-Madison County and All-Central Indiana Conference numerous times. A captain for the Indians boys basketball team, he has been awarded first-team Academic All-State recognition for his efforts on the court and the track.
“He’s just an all-around great kid, charisma-wise, athletic-wise and academic-wise. Everyone loves him,” Anderson athletic director Steven Schindler said. “Whether it be basketball, cross country or track, I’ve never seen him get down. Everybody is always cheering for him.”
Proctor has also spent countless hours in extracurricular activities which include programs like the National Honor Society, student council, Madison Park Youth Group, Grandview Park Cleanup and many more.
