We are so excited to welcome new and returning students back for the 2024-2025 school year! Below you will find important links (in blue) and information!

Back to School Guide 2024-2025

Here you will find information for registering new and returning students online and in-person. While there are no book or technology fees, we need new students to enroll and returning students to register before the school year begins. For those that have not done so yet we will have an in-person Registration event on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Anderson Elementary School in connection with the Ollie Dixon Back to School Parade and Picnic.

This webpage provides dates, times, and locations for Meet the Teacher Nights, Open Houses, and Building Tours. For questions, or more information, please contact your child’s school.

Here is a link to our 2024-2025 school calendar. The first day of school is Wednesday, July 31, 2024. We are continuing with the balanced calendar meaning there will be two week breaks during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2025.

Please take time to review the 2024-2025 Students Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. While most of this is consistent with past school years, we encourage families to read this to ensure they are aware of the rights and responsibilities of their students at Anderson Community Schools. Please pay careful attention to the ACS Uniform Code (on Page 29). Highlights include:
  • Headwear - No hats or hooded coverings. No sunglasses.
  • Shirts - Must cover the underarm, chest, shoulder, stomach, and back areas of upper torso. No spaghetti straps, no plunging neck lines, no pajama tops.
  • Pants - No pajama bottoms. Work at the waist. Undergarments not visible. Shorts no shorter than mid-thigh. Spandex or spandex type is not to be worn as outer garment unless covered by acceptable clothing at mid-thigh.
  • Shoes - Must be Closed-Toed shoes. Must have a back or back strap.
School supply lists for students in grades Pre-K - 6 can be found on this webpage. There are no supply lists for students in secondary (Grades 7-12). However, teachers may have items they request students bring in after school starts.

Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch. Special dietary requests can be made to your child's school.

There are several community back to school events going on in Anderson and Madison County. Many of these events provide free school supplies, haircuts, and clothing to help students get prepared for the start of school.

The Transportation Department is working on new bus routes for the upcoming school year. For those using bus transportation, please check this webpage again prior to the first day of school. Please note that bus pick up and drop off times may be different this year than they were last year.

The YMCA is offering before and after school care for students in Grades K-6. There is a cost. However, financial assistance is available. Those interested in before and / or after school care will need to complete the application found on our website.

We love having parents, guardians, family members, and community members volunteering at our schools! Individuals wishing to volunteer are required to complete a background check each school year.

There are a variety of substitute, part-time, and full-time positions available at Anderson Community Schools (ACS) for the 2024-2025 school year. Working at your child's school offers a variety of benefits including being on the same schedule as they are.

We are pleased to announce that Anderson Community Schools is now a ParentSquare district! In doing so, we are joining dozens of other school districts in Indiana that have adopted this powerful communications tool to better engage with their families. An introductory email will be sent to you in the coming weeks with more details.

All of the information linked above can be found on our Parents’ webpage. There you will also find additional links and information.
