ACS plans for preschool, kindergarten enrollment

Anderson Community Schools will hold its annual kindergarten and preschool enrollment next month for the 2025-2026 school year at its six elementary schools and Southview Preschool Center.

Joe Cronk, superintendent for ACS, said the annual enrollment drive is intended both to introduce young students and their families to the district and help administrators plan for the year ahead.

“Events like our early learning enrollment days are vital because they offer families a warm and welcoming introduction to school,” Cronk said. “These events help build early connections between families and our educators, ease anxieties, and give children a chance to begin developing a sense of belonging within their school community.

“We also use these opportunities to support parents and guardians with helpful information and resources, reinforcing the idea that we’re partners in their child’s educational journey.”

Enrollment for kindergarten is planned for April 9 at Anderson Elementary School, Eastside Elementary School, Edgewood Elementary School, Erskine Elementary School, Tenth Street Elementary School and Valley Grove Elementary School.

Enrollment for Southview Preschool Center and the new Eastview Preschool Center is scheduled for April 22. Both preschool registrations will take place at Southview.

Any student who will turn four years old before Aug. 1 can sign up for preschool and pre-kindergarten, according to the ACS website. A student with special needs is able to qualify at age 3 for preschool.

Students turning five years old by Aug. 1 can sign up for kindergarten.

A parent or guardian should bring the new student to enrollment, as well as the student’s birth certificate, proof of address and vaccination records.

Current students are encouraged to register for the upcoming school year at a special event happening April 29 at Anderson High School. Representatives from each school will be there to answer questions.
